About TAFI
The Tennessee Alliance for Financial Independence (TAFI) is a collaboration of partners that:
- Provide Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) outreach;
- Coordinate local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) free tax preparation programs; and/or
- Promote financial literacy, savings, and other asset-building programs designed to lead to long-term financial independence.
TAFI was formed in the fall of 2007 as a result of the first statewide EITC Symposium, which was funded by a grant from the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
