January 31, 2008, is Tennessee EITC Awareness Day. As part of the IRS' National EITC Awareness Day, this event is intended to provide outreach and education on the benefits of the Earned Income Tax Credit.

In Tennessee, local EITC and VITA coalitions implement a variety of local activities, such as press releases, meet and greet with elected officials, radio and/or television promotion, and more. Each coalition will host community kick-off events on February 2, 2008, at VITA sites.
