TAFI supports Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to help ensure that Tennessee's working individuals and families are filing for the tax credits they have earned and to help them save hundreds of dollars in commercial tax fees and predatory "rapid refund" loans.

Families making a household income of less than $40,000 can access VITA sites all over the state and have their taxes prepared for FREE! Our VITA sites ensure that eligible families receive their often unclaimed Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Taxpayers can receive refunds in 7-10 days with free e-filing and direct deposit. Sites also provide free e-filing and free direct deposit. Interested individuals need only to dial 2-1-1 from anywhere in the state to find a VITA site nearest them.
